Yes, the title says it all. I had a shifter sitting around that I ordered a year ago and finally, finally had the time to install it. It was a royal pain but, my god was it worth it. The clicks. The clicks! Each shift: Up, down; they’re all deliberate feeling and audible . The throw — I feel like the throw of the shifter connects me directly to the gears within the box. The combination of polyurethane and stainless steel bushings should do that I suppose. Sure, there is more vibration being transmitted into my hand, but you know what? I wouldn’t have it any other way .
These clicks. I love these new clicks. Hnnnngggggg.
Next week we install Eibach Multi-Pro R2 coilovers and 285 width Nitto NT05 tires. I almost died after the shifter install. Next week might be North Korea all over again.

When I bought my SN95, I was thinking about putting a shifter in it, having heard that they were the cat’s pajamas. I didn’t dislike the one I had; I just wanted to know what I was missing out on. But when I went to change the clutch, I found that a previous owner had already put one there!
A few months later, I saw a similar Mustang in a junkyard, so I sat down in it to see what the stock shifter actually feels like. It was like rowing a boat! I have a much better appreciation for it now.

The sad thing? A stock SN95 Mustang shifter isn’t *that* bad.
But a MGW or a Steeda Tri-Ax is crazy sharp, and I don’t want to go back.
